Swedish act Violet Days never fails to make us smile and leave us anxiously waiting for more from the impressive indie pop act.

Enchanting and entrancing, tracks span the full spectrum; from the hopeful battle cry of "Screaming Colors" to the hazy dizziness of "So Dope" to the empowering "Your Girl" and the absolute banger that is latest single "O.D On You" with a gentle ease that's easy to fall for. While that signature Violet Days sound lays within each track (warm beats, melodic synths that meld with the music, and potent vocals unafraid of taking on the biggest track) the beautifully evolving style of each new track means you don't want to miss a thing from an act that so flawlessly keeps things fresh - and addictive.

It would be easy to pin the success of Violet Days solely on Lina Hansson's poignant vocals that sound like they were meant to take center stage and hold an audience, but Violet Days' music is more than just that. Heavily honest productions, authentic storytelling, emotive music, and a close relationship between that music and the vocals - along with, yes, Hansson's ever captivating voice - make every track a must-hear. Indie electro-pop that says something real and isn't afaid of doing so, Violet Days is real and impossible to forget.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist SEE takes an intelligent but accessible approach to songwriting on her debut EP Ties with a confident and full sound you absolutely cannot miss.

Her single "Potions" has racked up over 1 million views on YouTube, and for good reason. Says SEE of her inspirations behind the single and video, "I fell in love with this girl and it was just this whirlwind of feelings and... it just all felt crazy and I was really into this person and so I wrote this song about it. A lot of LGBT representation in the media is always representation of people overcoming being gay or going through the struggle and that's a great story to tell, but it's too overdone; I just wanted a video where people were just happy to be with each other and that was the focus, instead of the fact that they were two girls".

SEE's sound is an eloquent dichotomy of control and emotion: tracks with a careful production and steady sequence mixed with emotive vocals and honest lyrics. "Ties encompasses the scope of my sound. It's a record that is based off of a bunch of real life experiences that take the form of an indie pop rock sound". 

Striking yet still attainable, SEE's sound is that of sincere words and honest music in a catchy hook, made for listening again and again. "This is all real art that I have worked on for a really long time and everything's written by me and I just want it to seem like it's very genuine, real emotions. Hopefully people can translate that and take that into their own lives and do with it what they will".

SEE is one to know now, not only because her career promises to be a popular one, but because you will be better for having heard music of this caliber, and that's what good music is all about.

Computer Magic (aka Danielle 'Danz' Johnson) presents an alluring mix of authentic and lovely electronic music.

Describing her upcoming album as "a vast array of the different sounds of Computer Magic" and her sound as "synth-pop, dream-pop, something like that... some people would say it's electronic, but it's not too electronic where it's like super dance-y all the time, so I guess it just varies on the person's opinion," Computer Magic leaves the interpretation to the listener and, with a wide range of sounds, there's plenty of room to fall for her style. "I feel like all the songs are different in a way, so they showcase the different varieties of music that I make".

Of her music, Danz simply states "I hope that people enjoy it and that it inspires them to do something fun for themselves. I never knew that I would be making music for a living and I have so much fun writing and making songs and I'm just happy that people enjoy them".

With a clean style, broad sound, and intricately emotive productions, Computer Magic's diversified sound is one to look for and pay attention to.

Danielle Prou /  by E

Danielle Prou may be young but her authentic sound and powerful voice are self-assured and ready to be heard.

Says Prou of her music style "...I'm not trying to label myself as anything - people want me to but I have no idea. If I'm listening to country recently, maybe my songs will sound more country; if I'm listening to rock, maybe my songs will sound more rock..." and speaking on her personal aesthetic "...for my first performance, I bought a really pretty party dress and inappropriately tall heels and I just was so ready to be 'pop star' and now I've sort of come into my own style; now when I go onstage, I have to beg my manager to let me wear my dirty, ugly sneakers, and my jeans, and my big, ugly T-shirts".

There's an ease with which Prou talks about her own songs, an inherent honesty that shows the music is what it is and that there are no false assumptions or forced upon emotions waiting to fool you, just good music with a message that looks to help others in the same way it has the artist herself. "As an introvert... those off the stage interactions with fans and the audience and other artists had me having heart attacks constantly and I was just a nervous wreck all the time and I was no fun to be around. I was in a heavy mood because I was just never happy and the peace of music was being disturbed by the fact that I was having all this anxiety," said Prou of "The Healer", following with "I wrote that song and it's just about someone who's really struggling and they're trying to find someone else who will understand, but the only person who will understand is someone who's also struggling".

While "The Healer" takes a more serious approach, Prou talked of other tracks like "another original called "Humerus", spelled like the arm bone instead of the other word - I thought it was kind of dumb to do that and I kind of love it. That one's about being shy and how a shy person navigates their love life, which is, basically, they don't navigate it at all. I think that's one people will really like and hopefully really relate to and it's not as dark as "The Healer"; it's sort of sarcastic, but it's still fun".

When asked what she hoped other listeners could take from her music, Prou responded "I hope they're able to take away who I am. I guess it might sound cliché, but all the music that I make, even the covers that I do, they have a personal meaning to me; I don't just put out songs that are inane or empty, I put out songs with feelings and I put out my personal experiences".

Diversified but succinct, Danielle Prou's sound is still evolving and maturing, but in the way that all artists' sound does. With her undeniable authenticity and a mature voice that insists on making sure the music remains real, Danielle Prou is an artist worth hearing.
