The Music Rag

White Dress by E

An enticing mix of cool back beats and warm melodies, Set Mo's "White Dress" stands out as the first single of 2015 that longs for the freedom of summer months. Duke's pure vocals mix eloquently with easy riffs that bring the track far beyond any other house track with a noteworthy pureness and a genuine feel and just enough sax to lighten it up interestingly without dragging it into a tired blues/soul sub-genre.

It's fresh and addictive and with a good flow, emotive hooks, and ever-evolving production that keeps it from growing tired, this is what all house music should aspire to.

Rosy Tan by E

The boisterous punk pop of Savage Nomads' "Rosy Tan" is hard to resist; with hard beats, fun riffs, an infectious melody, and lyrics that feel like they live in a noisy, packed bar, it's kitschy Britpop with a cool grunge flair that'll leave you dancing and hooked.

Until It's Said by E

The hesitant beat is pulled along dreamily by the urgent melody of Bronte's "Until It's Said" and the track's given life by emotive vocals that eloquently dole out the bluntly honest lyrics. The track's impressively unassuming at first listen, with a sweet and easy riff wrapping up the determined delivery of unyielding lyrics and just enough brass thrown in to give it substance against other indie folk releases; it's all laid out to be average but by the end is just interesting enough to play on a loop.
