Hot Tonight by E

Tokyo Police Club released their first single from their forthcoming album, Forcefield, today and it's perfect.
Of all the bands I have seen live, Tokyo Police Club still has the best overall performance because their music is their own; it has a distinct sound that's purely theirs and they managed to hold on to that with this latest single (and hopefully album) and even improved it by making the lyrics stand out more and the guitar riffs just a little more prominent.
Tokyo Police Club is one of the best indie bands and this single is fantastic so check out "Hot Tonight" for a track that feels like coming home and can be played on repeat mercilessly.

Reset by E

My interview with Maggie McClure will be up by the end of this week, an album review will be up towards the end of January, and her forthcoming album, Times Moves On, will be released February 11 (and you really want it in your music library).
The album is fantastic, as a whole, but "Reset" is my favorite track from the album because the piano melody is gorgeous and the lyrics are honest statements that read beautifully when put to song. The song came to when McClure ran into an old friend at the store and, after talking for a bit, he stated that he wished there was a reset button, making the inspiration behind this song just as unobtrusively great as the lyrics it holds.
Check out "Reset", head to the links below to listen to more fantastic tracks from this artist, and check back later this week for more information on Maggie and her forthcoming album.

Comin' Back As A Cowboy by E

Other than the rare exception (Hudson Taylor, Echosmith) I try not to feature sibling bands because they usually hold little more than a novelty selling point, but sisters Savvy and Mandy prove that they have actual talent with their single, "Comin' Back As A Cowboy".
Those vocals are sweet and rich and strong enough to hold their own when the guitar drops off, the riffs are pure country and beg you to dance, and you should be singing along by the end because a chorus that states "I'm coming back as a cowboy honey, so I can be the one to ride away" is the only thing more addictive than that melody.
Check out the video, listen to the song (because all of those lyrics are great), and head to the sites below to find out more about the duo.

Out Of My Head by E

Tomorrow is New Music Monday and I am supposed to be finding new songs from awesome bands for you to listen to so, naturally, I've regressed and have resorted to spending my time by listening to old favorites.
The song was released in 1999 and it's still utterly amazing because that piano is gorgeous, those lyrics are so very great, and the song is just good 90's alternative rock; so much has stemmed off of that genre ('alternative rock' is the main genre, 'alternative' falls into it as a sub-genre; I did a 3,000 word research paper on this genre's growth so that I could share this fun party fact with you [please don't use this at a party or no one will be your friend]) and every song that falls solidly into the genre feels like it hits a sweet spot every time you put your headphones on and close your eyes (that means 'listen to this on repeat').
While Fastball is considered a one hit wonder, "Out Of My Head" was the third single from their album, All The Pain Money Can Buy, while "The Way", which was released as the first single from that album, stayed in Billboard's modern rock charts for seven weeks; at worst, "Out Of My Head" made them a two hit wonder (..you guys deserve someone cooler than me).
Listen to their amazing single below and check out their latest release, "Love Comes In Waves".
