Anywhere But Here by E

It's SafetySuit Saturday again and so much has happened for the site this week that I can't wait to see how it all plays out. While I sit here (impatiently) waiting, you can listen to the orchestral version of "Anywhere But Here" because it's gorgeous.

The strings sound just as hopeful and desperate as the lyrics themselves and the percussion picks up, perfectly, in time to propel a strong vocal chorus forward; it's just another perfect song from an amazing band.

Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da/ I've Just Seen A Face/ In My Life by E

The Beatles first arrived in the US fifty years ago today and, while their first few albums featured songs which were simple and shared so many of the same characteristics (The Beatles loved using 'love'), their music only got better with age. They knew that the 'secret' to long term success was to age with your fan base and they did just that, with incredible ease, and, because they were so amazing and their catalog so immense, there is no 'best song' from The Beatles, only hundreds of songs to be played on repeat and used for any occasion.

"In My Life" The Beatles (I maintain that

Rubber Soul

 is their best album)

Home by E

I can't yet share with you guys all of the new developments for the blog, but I do want to stress that I love all of you for reading and sharing and for just being amazing people, because none of this would be happening without you guys. I also want to assure you that I will definitely be giving you a lot of music to fall in love with for a long time.
I'll have a review of the new American Authors' album up next week and you can pre-order Oh, What A Life (available March 4) from iTunes and get five of the album's songs today but, for now, just listen to "Home" because it gives a great mix of the band's folk pop fusion that comes together so gorgeously on this album.

(Everything Is) Debatable by E

I just saw the first draft of the new website and it's amazing and I can't wait to share it with you guys but, for now, I really think the best reaction is to just dance around to Hellogoodbye.
The track is filled with the same electronic beats that you've come to love from the band that first introduced you to the perfection that is "Here (In Your Arms)", "Baby, It's Fact", and "Touchdown Turnaround (Don't Give Up On Me)" on their first full length (Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!), but with just enough of a grounded jazz influence that the melody feels fuller and the track, as a whole, seems sturdier. The beat is addictive, the melody gorgeous, and the lyrics ("it's such an arbitrary line that we dance...everything is debatable") are just as great as ever. If you still don't have the band's latest album, Everything Is Debatable, pick it up from iTunes now.
