WAAX has the lo-fi garage rock sound down, but their impossibly smooth productions and fun riffs make songs like "Holy Sick" sound custom made for long, loud listens and sweaty dancing. It's loud and desperate and fun, and we just want to turn it all the way up. Look for more from Brisbane fivesome WAAX in 2016 and head to the sites for more infectious tracks now.
Better Off Dead /
Last week Australian duo Human Movement, released the first taste of their upcoming debut EP, "Dancing Room," with a one-two audio-visual punch for the title track. Lead single "Dancing Room" reassured eager fans that the 19 and 21-year-old duo still have a Midas touch when it comes to poignant dance floor hits, while the music video granted them a first time look into the Movement.
Human Movement's Blake Gilray and Edward MacDonald have unveiled their third EP cut, "Better Off Dead." The heat-seeking track hears Gilray and MacDonald team up with Deadmau5's protégé Eekkoo for an absolutely raucous dance floor burner that is a fusion of the trio's exemplary production sensibilities.
Looking forward to the remainder of the EP, fans can anticipate the debut of the EP's final track "5:00 AM." For those that cannot wait until the track's slated December 23rd release, head over to Episode 22 of Anna Lunoe's Beats 1 Radio show where you can catch a sneak peek of the track. Order your copy of "Dancing Room," out now, via BEHM Records / Prep School Recordings.
We Love /
French production/DJ duo Arigato Massaï's sound is refreshingly unique with twisting, full synths and lush beats grabbing your attention instantly on their latest single "We Love" featuring Fannie Lineros. A hook sweet enough to make it addictive with verses strong enough to break through that sheen of guilty pleasure and give it substance, the ultimately light and lovable track can be found on the duo's Waifu Material EP, out now.
Girl Riot /
Fast paced and driven, The Aquadolls' "Girl Riot" is reminiscent of every late '90s/early '00s girl punk track that had you taping 'Girl Power' signs to your bedroom door.
Says lead singer Melissa Brooks of the single, "'Girl Riot' is an anthem celebrating the strength and courage of any woman having to fight against what society expects you to accept, whether it be wage inequality or double standard social norms."
Fun and easily addictive, it's one to rock out to and fall for whether your day was awesome or just truly shit.
