Home Lives' enigmatic mix of assured alt-rock riffs, prominent pop beats, and obscure but pointed indie style lyrics clash in the band's debut "Cool Waves, Young Blood" making for a tragic but increasingly addictive track, further highlighted by a wonderfully twisted video that starts to spiral slowly, then leans into it wholeheartedly.
The breaking single is addictive from its start, but when it hits that bridge it's custom made for windows down, volume up, loud and poor scream singing that lends a certain invincibility to the otherwise hopeless situation and immediately secures itself as one you've got to listen to all over again.
