Feel Like Me - Press Release /
Renowned French duo Cassius have shared "Feel Like Me" featuring Cat Power off their upcoming Ibifornia LP, out August 26th via Interscope / Polydor.
"One day while we were working on Cat Power's last album 'Sun,' we played Chan our song 'I <3 U SO.' She looked at us and said that she would love singing on a track like this. We were overexcited and decided to tailor-made a song in the style of ours for our favorite living singer on earth, miss Chan Marshall. We made the instrumental in Paris, we knew very fast that we had an incredible chord progression and a great production. We went to New York and let Chan do her thing without even realizing what was really happening behind the glass window at Occiloscope Studio. We listened back and in a matter of a seconds we were all incapacitated by the water overflowing from our eyes. Since then it still has the same effect, Chan sang like a real woman, exactly how she prepared us on our long emails. Now we feel that this song is probably the most beautiful one we'll ever do. We accept it and think it's great like that. This moment at Occiloscope, working with Andre the Beastie Boys last engineer, remembering Adam Yauch, hearing Chan's voice from heaven, giving us everything she had... This moment we'll cherish until our last breath and even beyond. Hope you love it too. Peace." - The Cassius Men
Unstoppable - The Score - Press Release /
The Score release new single “Unstoppable”
Critically buzzing Los Angeles-based indie pop pair, Eddie and Edan, first met in 2013 and started feverishly writing songs together, creating a vision for the band while simultaneously landing placements with the likes of Kat Graham. In 2015, after carving out a devout following around New York with countless gigs at Rockwood Music Hall and other notable venues, they traded The Big Apple for sunny California and penned “Oh My Love” off their recently released debut EP, Where Do You Run. The rest of the EP’s songs illustrate THE SCORE’s uncontainable music energy and ability to craft unshakable pop hooks even more.
The Virginmarys - Motherless Land Press Release /
Hailing from Macclesfield, England, The Virginmarys make anthems that scream with all the potent sound and fury of modern punk acts, brimming with the honesty of prime British rock of the early 1970’s, before the wizards and capes overcame the attack and dynamic.
The energetic three-piece arrive with a compelling video for their single, "Motherless Land".
Taken from their sophomore release, Divides, the visuals are a fitting match the song. Directed by Kyle Cogan and produced by Drew Morris, the video follows a homeless couple as they train-hop across America, and builds from the themes that are entrenched throughout the album.
“There’s a lot of singing for the beaten-down and the people who don’t have a voice,” says Virginmarys singer and guitarist Ally Dickaty. “This particular song is about a couple that is escaping from the society that they’re living in because they’ve just had enough of it.”
