Don't Worry About Me by E

Rob Drabkin's "Don't Worry About Me" sounds like everything that is good and pure about the acoustic guitar came together to form a tragically gorgeous track.

Eloquently put lines "please don't worry about me, don't you worry no more, cause I can still breathe and I can still sing, I'm gonna just stand here on my own, just stand here alone" roll over sweet guitar chords while a string section (courtesy of the Colorado Symphony) gives the track an achingly vulnerable quality, chiming in at just the right time then leveling off every so often to give Drabkin's raw vocals and guitar work the spotlight.

The track's stripped sound is invigoratingly fresh and the video's beach setting offers up a modest mirror for the stark beauty of a track whose soft sounds rolls over its listener with ease.

Switzerland by E

Dayneo's "Switzerland" is catchy as hell with an upbeat melody and fun rhythm that offers up something to dance along to while lyrics blatantly rag on fair-weather friends.

Dayneo's surprisingly melodic vocals are easy to listen to and lines "don't be like Switzerland, you know you've got your own mind, don't be like Switzerland, so make up your own m-m-m-mind" and "I know you know I know" are impossible to hear without wanting to sing along with.

Despite its negative origins, the track actually manages to sound outright cheerful, with an upbeat attitude, danceable melody, and crazy fun video making the track inarguably great.

We've Got Love by E

The music video for Calan Mai's single "We've Got Love" offers up a perfect mirror of the sweet and honest track with the low budget appearance and cute props only adding to the song's endearing sentiment.

Verses read biographically and are refreshingly intelligent, while the charming repetition of "I hope it is enough that they've got love... still me I just hope it's enough" gives the track its light and airy feel that still manages to hit home. Add in sweet guitar chords that jibe perfectly with Mai's mildly rough vocals and you've got a ridiculously catchy track that's utterly impossible to sit still through.

"We've Got Love" should leave you anxiously awaiting the release of Calan Mai's debut EP, Days On The Rock Face.

Happens by E

Lucian's remix of Sampha's "Happens" breathes new life into the aching track with that melancholy piano being replaced by a pure synth line and previously plaintive vocals coming out clear and strong over this track's pulsing rhythm.

Lyrics "I don't have the answers, so I won't tell you lies" feel more earnest, carrying an extra forcefulness that was missing from the track's original production and the fun melody that drips with a soulfulness not often found in remixed tracks should have you dancing along.

Listen to Lucian's track below then head to the sites to hear more from this up and coming artist.
