The Slumlord's Kids by E

The recently released video for "The Slumlord's Kids" off Nathan Leigh's upcoming Ordinary Eternal Machinery is terribly catchy with a jaunty piano riff, running drums, intelligent and bare lyrics, the perfect amount of trilling horns, and a video that not-so-subtly refuses to back down.

Of the single, Leigh said, "I wrote it about a conversation that I had about Donald Trump and the way that real estate is handled in New York and the cycles of gentrification and that we put wealthy people in positions of power in order to make life better for those of us on the lower end of the economic spectrum and they kind of never do" (read more of Nathan's interview here).

Nathan Leigh's signature sound is, to us, addictive music with an honest message, and we think you all should take a close listen. Sweeter and harder hitting with each listen, "The Slumlord's Kids" should have you ready for more, so look for his upcoming album Ordinary Eternal Machinery, to be released January 2017.

Loud by E

Kehlani's Grammy nominated producer Coucheron has released a lyric video for his latest single "Loud" off his double A-side Loud/Puzzled.

Simple but unexpected, the lyric video holds an easy warmth and a dash of endearing kitschiness - falling in line with a song so catchy and wonderfully hopeful it'll make your whole day better - that we know you'll fall for.

Unobtrusive electronic music at its most melodic, Coucheron's tracks are not ones to mix, so check out the video and head to all those sites for more.

Ghost In The Wind by E

Birdy's "Ghost In The Wind" off The Edge of Seventeen Official Soundtrack captures all the fear of being hopelessly lost with those gentle bursts of energy to find yourself that marked our teenage years, done with such aplomb that it holds an almost timeless feel.

Her always ethereal vocals string along poetic lyrics in hypnotic accordance with the hauntingly gorgeous music, with a final beautiful swell and earnest push that leaves hope laying just at its fringes in a cinematic echo in a way that only Birdy's potent vocals could carry with such confidence and ease before the track finds itself lost and wandering once again.

On the film, Birdy explains: "I really loved this movie, and could relate to Nadine’s struggles as an awkward teenager finding her way. My Song “Ghost in the Wind” is about a cry for help and forgiveness when Nadine realises she’s pushed away all the people who care about her and lost herself in the process".
