Get Out The Way by E

If there's one album we haven't been able to get enough of this year it's Glint's Inverter and we're stoked to be sharing their latest single with you.

"Get Out The Way" is a fresh, real relationship song that plays out more like an anthemic reminder for yourself to not stand in your own way and with such intelligent and unabashed honesty falling into a lush production and a huge chorus meant to be played at full volume, it's one you need to hear.

The beautifully twisted and oddly smooth way in which dark nostalgia gives way to hopeful outlooks and desperate optimism is buried beneath raw understandings is a good precursor to the album, so check out the single now and look for Inverter to be released March 11 via Votiv.

1900 - Vi - Press Release by E

"I hadn’t thought about making another 1900 album. I felt that I had accomplished what I wanted to accomplish with the first album, and the thought of pulling out all those old worn tape recorders once again did not feel like an appealing thing to do. While recording the first album I used quite a few of those up. Some never worked, others stopped working right in the middle of recording. One even caught fire. It was a lengthy process and it felt good to put all that aside when I was done with it.

During all that time the 1900 music has lead a life of its own. I still get questions from people that just discovered the music, and it gets regularly played in TV and in movies. Maybe music just turns old much slower when it already sounds old when released?

After some time I started to get melodies stuck in my head that felt most suitable for something 1900 related.  I realized I miss that broken sound you get out of a tape recorder long overdue its intended life time. I like music that sounds torn and fray, and this way of making music takes me there fast. When I did get some time to spend I pulled out those old tape recorders and to my surprise they still worked. I started recording on them again." - Christian Gabel

"Vi" was the first single out from the forthcoming 1900 album Tekno and today the video, made by Videomaskinen and Jonas Börjesson is out! Behind the name 1900 is Christian Gabel, of bob hund fame. On "Vi" the backing vocals is performed by legendary Swedish artist Thåström and Ossler.

Andrew Bird ft. Fiona Apple "Left Handed Kisses" - Press Release by E

The inimitable Fiona Apple joins Andrew Bird on "Left Handed Kisses", the second track released off Are You Serious, out April 1st via Loma Vista. Not known for writing love songs, Andrew took an approach here in a way that only he can.

"My inclination was to write a song about why I can't write a simple love song.  The song began as an internal dialogue," Bird says. "At first it was just my voice. Then another voice came creeping in and I thought 'this should be a duet if I can find the right person.' I needed to find someone really indicting. She was totally committed. The session was a long whiskey-fueled night - unhinged, for sure. All worth it, of course. I can't write simple love songs. People are complex."

Listen to the song below and see him live on his upcoming world tour (full dates below). Stay tuned for the video directed by Phil Andelman.

Tiger Army Release “Prisoner Of The Night” - Press Release by E

Los Angeles-based rock ‘n roll band TIGER ARMY have released “Prisoner of the Night,” the first track off their much-anticipated new album, V •••–  (LunaTone/Rise), release date TBA.

Produced and mixed by Grammy winner Ted Hutt (Old Crow Medicine Show, The Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys) and featuring Tiger Army vocalist/guitarist Nick 13, acclaimed bassist Dave Roe (Johnny Cash, Ray Lamontagne, Dan Auerbach) and drummer Mitch Marine (Dwight Yoakam), V •••–  is Tiger Army’s first album since 2007’s Music from Regions Beyond.

Tiger Army have been playing “Prisoner of the Night” during their recent live shows, including their current tour with Dropkick Murphys (see itinerary below).

About the track and how it fits into the band’s set, Nick 13 says, "Our sound has always been about a mix of old and new. But this song, like others on the new record, draws from the early ‘60s. It was a transitional period after the end of rock 'n' roll's first wave, but prior to the British invasion. There was a lot of sonic experimentation as people tried to figure out 'what's next'?  Radio singles of that era also went on to influence early NYC punk, so 'Prisoner' plays with that as well.”
